Princeton University apologizes for mistreatment of 1985 MOVE bombing victims’ remains
Updated 3:08 PM;
Princeton University is apologizing for its role in mishandling bones of victims of the 1985 bombing of the MOVE organization in Philadelphia that were never returned to the family.
Retired Princeton Professor Emeritus of Anthropology Alan Mann was in custody of remains of children who were killed in the police bombings, which burned two city blocks and left 11 people dead. He was hired in 2000 from the University of Pennsylvania, where he began his attempts to identify remains and continued to study one set of remains that couldn’t be identified.
