The Jersey Shore house in Seaside Heights will stay closed this summer as part of a settlement between the borough an its owner because of a late-summer event with YouTube stars the Nelk Boys.
The house featured on the MTV show for several seasons cannot be rented out as part of a settlement between Danny Merk and the borough over a large gathering on Sept. 14, which drew 2,500 to a car show and the unveiling of new basketball and baseball jerseys by the group known for its digital pranks. They can t rent that facility until October 2021, so that was a penalty. That s a loss of revenue for them. They have provided us with $5,000 to cover the cost of our police and legal fees and they have to reapply for a mercantile license to get approval, Mayor Anthony Vaz told New Jersey 101.5.
In this case, GTL stands for got to leave.
Shorebeat is reporting that the owner of the Jersey Shore on Ocean Terrace in Seaside Heights, D&P Rentals LLC, has reached a settlement with the town.
This all stems from an incident that happened on September 14 of last year.
A bunch of social media influencers from Canada known as The Nelk Boys rented the house to launch a clothing line. Popular for their prank videos, The Nelk Boys have amassed nearly seven million followers on YouTube. So, when word spread that they would be at the Jersey Shore house, thousands showed up, most of them maskless to witness the hijinx.

A restoration of Seaside Heights’ beloved antique carousel will not be complete before Fall 2022, according to officials of the Shore resort town and the Ohio-based firm that will do most of the restoration work.
A pavilion to house the 111-year-old carousel now under construction along the boardwalk is tangible evidence of progress in the borough’s years-long, multi-million dollar effort to acquire the 111-year-old merry-go-round, restore it inside and out, and then operate it as a public amenity emblematic of the borough’s history and revival as a family-friendly resort.
