Massive art exhibit on Andean art will feature virtual reality tour of Machu Picchu

The  traveling exhibit, Machu Picchu and the Golden Empires of Peru, will make its global debut at the museum as part of its eightieth anniversary later this year. The exhibition of Andean art will encompass the entire museum. With pandemic safety protocols intensifying already tight restrictions surrounding tourism to Machu Picchu, the exhibition will provide a unique opportunity to discover art of advanced Andean civilizations.

BOCA RATON, FLA .- This fall, South Floridians and tourists from across the globe will discover a culture that thrived in a mythical world thousands of years ago. World Heritage Exhibitions announced today the world premiere of Machu Picchu and the Golden Empires of Peru, opening on October 16, 2021. The first stop of a worldwide tour will take place at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. Cityneon presents the exhibition with support from the Government of Peru, the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, and in partnership with Inkaterra Asociacion. The artifacts in the exhibition are on loan from Museo Larco in Lima, Peru, and Museo de Sitio Manuel Chávez Ballón in Aguas Calientes, Peru.

These 183 pieces of rare artefacts will be featured in the inaugural exhibition titled  Ramses The Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs and the exhibition will open in Texas, United States at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Ramses II, also known as Ramses The Great, ruled for 66 years, which was the second longest reign in ancient Egyptian history. Because of his long rule, Ramses II is thought to have amassed one of the largest and richest burial chambers and is regarded as the most powerful pharaoh of the New Kingdom, the most celebrated period of ancient Egypt.
