Man Arrested and Charged In Georgia Country Club Killings

Bryan Anthony Rhoden has been charged with three counts of murder, three counts of aggravated assault and two counts of kidnapping for the homicides at the Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Cobb County Police Chief Tim Cox said in a press conference. Golfer Gene Siller was shot only after approaching the truck Rhoden drove onto a golf course at the club and was not considered to be a target. Siller was shot because he “witnessed an active crime taking place,” Cobb County Police Department said, according to WBS-TV.

The 23-year-old reportedly lives in Atlanta and was arrested up by the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Chamblee. It appears he has a long history of violations, including several charges just hours after the fatal shooting at Pinetree. DeKalb County records show that Rhoden was arrested by the Chamblee Police Department on charges of DUI, providing false ID, and other vehicle and traffic charges hours after Siller was killed. He was booked into the jail on July 4 morning and was released two days later on bond, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

At the time of his arrest, Rhoden faced a Level 6 felony of resisting law enforcement, as well as aggressive driving, a Class A misdemeanor, and reckless driving, a Class C misdemeanor in White County. He faces an additional charge of reckless driving in a work zone, a Class A misdemeanor, in Tippecanoe County.
