POWERING through the pain a mum has walked 150 miles and raised enough money to give wigs to 13 children who have cancer. Mara Soto moved to Swindon from Cuba eight years ago and every year she does something for charity around Christmas time. It all started after she had a divorce a few years ago and wanted to tackle the loneliness by helping others, this year she raised more than £7,200 as she walked from Paxford to Swindon. She walked with a group of friends – Lance Tucker, Anthony Reape and Rachael Finnigan – who kept each other motivated. Mara, who has a daughter, Kiki, 7, said: It s been a very tough challenge but it s for a really good cause.
