The Baltimore Ravens on Monday waived safety Geno Stone for the second time this season.
Stone, a seventh-round rookie out of Iowa, has appeared in two games this season, mostly on special teams. Baltimore released him earlier this year as it shuffled personnel pieces but quickly re-signed him to the practice squad and, eventually, he returned to the roster.
The Ravens could try to follow a similar path in this instance. Stone would be eligible to return to the practice squad if no other NFL team claims him off waivers by 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The Ravens won t have cornerback Jimmy Smith, but they could have Calais Campbell back when they face the New York Giants Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.
Smith (ribs/shoulder) has been officially ruled out and will miss his second consecutive game. Smith has played very well when healthy, but injuries have plagued him during his career and he will miss his fourth game this season.
Calais Campbell (calf) was a full participant in Friday s practice and he could return to the lineup after missing last weekend s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. A six-time Pro Bowler, Campbell has not been 100 percent since injuring his calf Nov. 8, but his return to practice as a full participant indicates his health is trending in the right direction.
While several Baltimore Ravens returned to practice Thursday after missing a day of on-field work, wide receiver Marquise Brown was absent because of a knee injury.

The Baltimore Ravens will take a three-game winning streak into Sunday’s matchup with the New York Giants, and they’ll carry a bruised roster toward the weekend, too.
Nine players missed practice with injuries Wednesday, including wide receiver Dez Bryant (thigh) and a handful of key figures on defense. Pro Bowl defensive end Calais Campbell (calf) and cornerbacks Jimmy Smith (ribs/shoulder) and Marcus Peters (calf) all missed last week’s win over the Jaguars and remained sidelined Wednesday.

Nine Ravens sat out practice Wednesday as Baltimore continues to try to get healthy down the stretch run.
The Ravens who did not practice are wide receiver Dez Bryant (thigh), defensive end Calais Campbell (calf), defensive back/linebacker Anthony Levine Sr. (abdomen), outside linebacker Pernell McPhee (knee), cornerback Marcus Peters (calf), tackle Tyre Phillips (concussion), center/guard Matt Skura (back), cornerback Jimmy Smith (ribs/shoulder) and linebacker Kristian Welch (foot). Fullback Patrick Ricard (knee) was limited.
Campbell is still trying to get to full strength after getting Sunday s game against the Jaguars off. Head Coach John Harbaugh said Campbell could have played, but that it was his decision to give the veteran rest.
