First on wdbj7, the trial for ashley white will continue thursday now but without a jury. Just hours ago the judge accepted a compromise from the commonwealths attorney and whites lawyers to hold a bench trial instead of a jury trial. White is charged with child abuse and neglect. Her son noah thomas was found dead in a septic tank near the familys Pulaski County home. Kelsey bulger, her attorney, said it was impossible to seat a jury in Pulaski County because so many people know about the case either through media or social media. Both sides waived a jury trial. This comes after the court interviewed 66 potential jurors in two days and and filled its jury pool. Shooting in roanoke county. Police say the suspect is dead in the incident that happened friday night near route 419. Officers responded was waving a gun in the parking lot of a walgreens near brambleton avenue. Shot, and he died at the hospital. The officers involved are on administrative leave as Police Continue to investigate. Officer was killed her first day on the job domestic call. County Police Department identified the fallen officer as ashley guindon. She had just been swornin to the department friday. Two other officers were injured in the shooting.
