Blues boss Paul Lambert says it would be great to win Sunday’s second-round FA Cup tie against Coventry City at St Andrew’s and the draw one of the “big guns” in the third round. Town ended their near-10-year 15-game winless FA Cup run by beating Lincoln 1-0 in their first-round replay just over a week ago.
Blues manager Paul Lambert has admitted that Wolves could recall keeper Will Norris from his loan in January but says he has had no thoughts about bringing Bartosz Bialkowski back from his spell at Millwall, although says it s possible other clubs could come and buy the Polish international in the transfer window.
Town’s post-international break blues continued after they were held to a 2-2 home draw by Blackpool. The Blues, who have now not won a league game after an international break for 22 matches stretching back to September 2014, went in front on eight via Gwion Edwards but the Tangerines levelled through Joe Nuttall on 22. Blackpool took the lead from a disputed penalty converted by Jay Spearing eight minutes after the restart but Luke Garbutt equalised for Town, also from the spot, on 58.
Alan Judge’s first Town goal deep in injury time saw Town to a 1-0 FA Cup first-round replay victory at Lincoln, ending their 15-match winless run in the tournament and avenging the defeat to the Imps in January 2017. The tie appeared destined for extra-time when Judge swept home at the far post.
