Now, samuel battle broke the color barrier on the police force, enduring hostility on the job and on city streets. I appreciate it. This book really is a walkthrough history, through new york city history, in a lot of ways and even the countrys to a smaller extent. What drew you to sam battles story . Okay. In 2009, an amateur historian had known about sam battle and known that hed been the first cop on the new York City Police force, that hed broken in in 1911. He persuaded new york city to place a sign up on the intersection of lenox avenue and 135th street. The daily news did a little story. They called h

A lot of people come here to learn about the threeday battle of gettysburg. We talked about that battle, but this book attempts to answer the question what happens after the three days are over . The story is pretty well known. The story after is not as wellknown. You might remember the battle was a threeday battle on july 1, 2, and 3 just outside this building. 160,000 soldiers for three hot days, then there would 151,000 or missing.
