26-year-old Anthea Zammit of Żebbuġ is representing Malta in the 69th Miss Universe, being held in Hollywood, Florida, early on Monday.
A total of 80 countries are participating in the contest.
Zammit is a dance teacher who is also pursuing a law degree at the University of Malta.
While in Hollywood, she has had various interviews, photoshoots and public appearances to promote Malta internationally.

The show will be aired live on FYI at 2am (Malta time). A new winner will be crowned by last year s winner Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa. The top 20 finalists, selected on Friday, will be announced tonight at the start of the finale.

Miss Universe Malta
Anthea Zammit, Miss Universe Malta 2021 has just left Malta to go represent the country for the Miss Universe competition. This is the 2020 edition but because of Covid it was delayed to May 2021.
This marks the 69th edition of Miss Universe. This year the finals will be held on 16th May at Hollywood, FL in USA.

Last year’s winner was South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi.
Zammit will be competing with another 75 countries this year as normally there are 95 but due to Covid some countries cannot participate. Once there, she will be involved in various photoshoots, events, interviews etc whilst obviously all covid measures will be respected and in full force.
