KIRIKHAN, Turkey Turkey’s southern border with Syria has become a place of hardship and misery, with tented camps for people displaced by a decade of war on the Syrian side and a concrete wall blocking entrance to Turkey for all but the most determined.

PHOENIX – Grand Canyon made program history Saturday, March 6, by winning a share of the Western Athletic Conference regular season championship, the school’s first conference hoops crown at the Division I level.
Now, the Antelopes have more history within reach.
With their 74-64 victory over WAC co-champion Utah Valley Saturday night at GCU Arena, the Lopes clinched the top seed in the WAC Tournament that begins today at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. An automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament is on the line there, a prize Grand Canyon has been chasing since joining the WAC and the NCAA’s highest division in 2013.
Mikey Dixon had 17 points as Grand Canyon edged past Dixie State 77-74 on Friday night. Asbjorn Midtgaard added 16 points for the Antelopes, while Jovan Blacksher Jr. chipped in 15. Midtgaard also had 10 rebounds.
