After his conversation with the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Manoj Jarange Patil who was on hunger strike in Antarwali Sarati village demanding Maratha reservation ended his hunger strike. He said that Chief Minister Shinde had assured him that the Maratha community would get a reservation. Therefore, he has decided to end the hunger strike.
The bandh was observed in Aundh, Baner, Pashan, Bopodi, Sutarwadik, Mhalunge, Someshwar Wadi and Sus to support the demand for reservation to the Maratha community.
Manoj Jarange, who has been on a hunger strike for the Maratha quota for nine days, is now suffering from dehydration and is being given intravenous fluids, according to doctors monitoring his condition. The activist has refused to drink water and fluids if a decision on the quota is not made within four days.
