The Longing from Studio Seufz in Germany. Developer Anselm Pyta appeared in the showcase to discuss the title, which released on PC last year and will launch on Switch later today.
The Longing is about waiting 400 real-time days (including time spent with the game physically turned off) for your king to awaken and return with all his power. As you wait as the king’s last faithful servant, you will… kind of just kill time. A lot of time. Your character, a Shade, has a painfully slow walking speed it seems. You can decorate your home, or read, or draw. You can explore caves, complete time-based puzzles, and collect items.
