up from academia. it happened at the universitye f of pittsburg pittsburh cathedral of learning, where a femaleemale studyh, was allegedl sexually assaulted during school hours. now, that s bad enought gets , but it horr gets worse. students, understandably horrified, demandeied demaaseddd security on campus at one anonymous student, created a petitiond that garnered six thousand signatures asking for more security cameras and more stringent id access passes. m the university quickly responded with an email from chc the vice chancelloc sar of public safety and emergency management. longer the title the old rule? the longer the title, the less they actually do in the email. the v.c promised they would be taking additional actions, and that would include increasing patrols and security shifts, meaning more cops. can you guess what happeneds han next? hint it always happens when common sense runs headfirst into the witless woke. stupid, destructive outrage. stupid, dest se
realizing now that children his own age were murdered inside their classroom, inside their school, he s trying to process it all. and he saw my own anxiety this morning and i felt guilty for even causing a little bit of his own. and he actually said to me, don t worry, mommy. i will be home tonight. he said, i make a promise to myself every day that i will make it home at night. now, these should not be the promises any child has to make. not in a nation where our promises to keep them safe have not been kept. i remember when mr. rogers was trying to comfort kids like me by telling them when you see scary things, look for the helpers. look for the helpers. okay, well, as far as we know, the helpers stood in the hallway. the helpers heard shots even after they believed it was a barricade and not an active shooter, and when the helpers aren t being tight hp lipped, they re offering changing narratives but i m still going to look to these helpers. but this time it will be for an
supreme court. now, i know there s a draft opinion, and it was leaked and it purports to say that, yes, the writing is on the wall. and no one should be naive to the prospect that roe v. wade may, in fact, be overturned. and yet, roe v. wade, again, sitting here today is still supposed to be the law of the land until the supreme court officially says otherwise. but for some governors and abortion clinic operators, the leaked opinion was enough. it s given license to governors to try to anticipate that overturning roe v. wade, according to that opinion, will allow them to decide the issue. remember, alito wanted it to go back to the states. it s about having the individual states being the one to decide how their state will operate. and because of it, some governors are now signing legislation accordingly or hoping to be able to soon. and for some abortion clinic operators, well, state abortion bans have made them stop providing the service entirely out of fear of being sued.
