Remdesivir is not available, but being prescribed | Noida News

Noida: While doctors continue to prescribe the ‘wonder drug’ Remdesivir to Covid patients, it’s their kin who are undergoing mental trauma as they go around searching for the injection at different hospitals, pharmacies and even at the district chief medical officer’s (CMO) office. On Tuesday, a video explaining the dismal situation of helplessness of the public went viral, in which a group of women family members of Covid patients could be seen touching the feet of the Gautam Budh Nagar’s CMO pleading for the Remdesivir injection. One of them, Kavita Gupta told TOI that her husband Inder Gupta has been admitted to Kailash hospital and needs the Remdesivir injection for treatment urgently. “His Covid report is now negative but he has chest infection. Doctors at the hospital say that his condition can improve only if he is given Remdesivir.”

Covid test negative, patient fails to get bed, dies | Noida News

Noida: A non-Covid patient who had breathing trouble died on a stretcher near a government hospital complex in front of his son, who struggled to arrange a bed for him at a private facility. Niazuddin, a resident of Gaur City, was taken to the hospital in Sector 30 in a private ambulance around 11.30am on Sunday. After reaching the facility, his son Ghulam Qutubuddin got a stretcher and tried to take his father, who was in his late fifties, to the emergency block. As barricades had been placed near the area, the security guards asked Qutubuddin to take the patient from another side. When Qutubuddin managed to enter the emergency ward, doctors checked Niazuddin’s report, which mentioned he was not a Covid patient. Doctors then put the man on oxygen support and after a while, they asked Qutubuddin to take him home.
