Center for Responsible Citizenship hosts 11th Annual Constitution Bowl
On Sept. 17, Lee University’s newly established Center for Responsible Citizenship (CRC) hosted the institution’s 11th Annual Constitution Day Quiz Bowl.
The event welcomed 14 teams of regional high-schoolers as they competed in their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and its founding history.
Last year, the Constitution Bowl was replaced with a lecture presented by Dr. Thomas Pope, a professor of political science at Lee, to better accommodate social distancing procedures as a response to the pandemic.
This year, the CRC returned to the traditional Quiz Bowl format while maintaining precautions for COVID-19 throughout the event. Regional high-schoolers gathered on campus in teams of four in friendly competition. Participants spent the past several months preparing for the event and a return to Lee’s campus.
