Dimapur, June 23 (EMN): Informing about the various programmes being implemented by the government of India for agriculture development, the vice chancellor of Nagaland University (NU) urged farmers to be ready to face new challenges as global warming is taking its toll through uncertain weather conditions and further encouraged all to work together for mutual benefit. The vice chancellor was addressing the 12th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting, organised by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) NU, Zunheboto, to discuss matters related to its technical performance by advisory committee members with Agriculture and allied departments from Zunheboto, progressive farmers of the district and subject specialist of KVK, an update informed. Encouraging the KVK to perform better, the vice chancellor stressed on providing the right crop, right seed varieties suited to local conditions and use of disease resistant varieties so that productivity of crops at farmer’s fields can be increased
