Pair charged with child abduction to appear in Bristol Crown court in January

Police The two people charged with abducting a child in Bristol last week have been released on conditional bail ahead of their appearance at Bristol Crown court early next year. A man and woman have been charged under the Child Abduction Act 1984 after detaining an eight-year-old girl. They kept the child overnight, away from her parents, without permission. Annmarie Lawton has been bailed with conditions including to live at an address outside the Avon and Somerset policing area and an overnight curfew monitored electronically. Ismail Qurba has been bailed to an address within the Avon and Somerset policing area. His conditions include not going into Bedminster and an overnight curfew monitored electronically.

Pair charged with abducting girl from Bristol after trip to McDonald s sparked a 16-hour hunt

A man and woman who allegedly abducted a neighbour s eight-year-old daughter have been charged with a child abduction offence.  Avon and Somerset Police said Ismail Qurba, 25, and Annmarie Lawton, 29, both of Bristol, have been charged with detaining a child so as to keep her from a person having lawful control of her, which is an offence under the Child Abduction Act of 1984. The pair will appear at Bristol Magistrates Court virtual hearing on Saturday, the force said. Police said the girl was safe and well and in the care of specialist officers following the incident in Bristol.
