Ranveer Singh recently announced his association with director Shankar for the remake of
Anniyan in Hindi. While this is the first time that Ranveer Singh will be collaborating with the director, it looks like the film has already landed itself in a legal soup.
Anniyan’s producer V Ravichandran has called out Shankar for announcing the film without his permission and rendered it illegal. The producer has mentioned in his letter to the director that he is the sole owner of all the rights to the film’s script and making it in Hindi without his knowledge is nothing but illegal and unprofessional.

Mumbai: Bollywood star Ranveer Singh is set to headline the Hindi adaptation of Tamil blockbuster Anniyan , to be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Shankar who also helmed the original.
The 2005 psychological action thriller featured South star Vikram in the lead and chronicled the story of a man who suffers from multiple personality disorder- working as a lawyer by day and a vigilante at night.
The adaptation billed as a pan-India project will be produced by Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios.

The yet-untitled project has been announced around the auspicious time of Baisakhi in North India and Puthandu in Tamil Nadu, which marks the New Year celebrations in these respective calendars. The film is slated to go on the floors in mid-2022, and will be co-produced by God Bless Entertainment. The music of the film will be available on Saregama.
