Drink and eat like a Ho at these Houston restaurants Chron 2/1/2021 Joanna O Leary
The new Houston-based reality show House of Ho is full of glitz, glamour, and gourmet sips and bites.
Multiple episodes show the multi-generational millionaire clan preparing elaborate post-church Sunday lunches of spring rolls, duck and other Vietnamese dishes (with their heavily bejeweled hands, no less), and matriarch Hue Ho takes special pains to instruct her daughter Judy and daughter-in-law Lesley on proper carving and butchering techniques.
But these repasts seem almost pedestrian in comparison to the family’s holiday feasts featuring leagues of lobster tails, vats of caviar and bottle after bottle of Dom Perignon. When the River Oaks crew are out and about, their drinking and dining habits are equally decadent. After all, it’s all about conspicuous consumption in every sense of the word.

Tiny Champions opened for service last weekend at 2617 McKinney St. Led by its partners, chef Jason Vaughan, beverage specialist Sean Jensen, and pastry chef Julia Doran, the restaurant serves pizza and pasta along with, in Doran’s words,”crunchy and acidic vegetables dishes, small proteins, and some heartier dishes for gluten-free folks or people not wanting something carb-heavy.” Sure to be controversial is the restaurant’s decision to serve a pizza topped with pineapple.
Rejoice, fair Houstonians: Patio season is truly here, inviting us to dine outdoors in rather comfortable weather. Emphasis on rather, because as we ve seen, that weather can also be quite chilly . or downright cold, depending on your adjustment level. Luckily, just about everyone who operates a restaurant in this city knows that once the cooler temperatures start hitting, a few strategically placed heaters and some well-placed covers can do wonders for the patio experience.
We ve put together a list of restaurants across the Bayou City that not only have patios, but also the necessary means to keep you warm and cozy as fall settles in.
