Victims identified after massacre at Colorado Springs birthday party
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) A family member has identified the six people shot to death at a birthday party this past weekend in Colorado Springs.
The victims were identified as:

City officials told CNN that it could take several days to conduct autopsies and make forensic identifications for the victims. Colorado Springs police didn t release any new information on Monday.
Colorado Springs Police say the suspected shooter in the incident appeared to have shot himself and died. The suspect was Sandra s boyfriend, according to a family member who identified the suspect s name as Junior.

TESSA works to help all victims of domestic violence, sex assault, stalking, and human trafficking in El Paso and Teller Counties. They provide shelter with a 34-bed safe house, access to legal support and advocates, and have a 24/7 Safeline that victims can call.
In Colorado’s three largest cities, 2020 was not just a year of pandemic and politics. It was a year of record homicides.
In Denver, Aurora and Colorado Springs, the data tells the same story. Denver saw 95 homicides, the police department said, up from 63 in 2019, according to the Denver Post’s number. Aurora recorded 43, compared to 30 the previous year. Colorado Springs reported 39 homicides, up from 24 in 2019.
The uptick of killings believed associated in part with the COVID-19 pandemic tell a startlingly grim story for domestic violence victims, experts said.
In Denver, according to Police Chief Paul Pazen, aggravated assaults tied to domestic violence jumped more than 40%, totaling more than 1,000 in 2020.
