The 163rd Hospices de Beaune charity wine auction, which was held over the weekend, raised a whopping aggregate total of €25.1million ($27.4million), the second highest total ever achieved for the annual auction.
The 163rd Hospices de Beaune wine sale, which will take place on 19 November, will see 753 barrels from the 2023 harvest sold, with profits going towards modernising the winery and major structural work to some of its more modern hospital buildings.
The Presidents' Piece, the highlight of the annual Hospices de Beaune sale, which this year takes place on 19 November, will 'twin' with the spire of the famous Notre Dame, having been made out of part of a 220- year-old trees used in the rebuilding of the famous French cathedral.
