NEW CUMBERLAND – Some new faces found their way to municipal government Tuesday night when the votes were counted.
Will White defeated David “Boe” Cline, 77-59, to become the city’s new mayor for the next four years, as former mayor Richard “Dick” Blackwell won the nod as a Ward 1 councilman.
Anne Blankenship was successful in her candidacy to win a Ward 2 seat over longtime incumbent Judith Takach Bartley, 47-31. Also earning their Ward 2 council seats were Donald E. Blankenship, Anne’s father-in-law and a longtime incumbent, and Larry Binkoski. All the races were four-year terms except Binkoski, who has to run again in two years.
