Angelo Harrod was sentenced to life in prison Friday for the June 2021 killing of Michelle Cummings, a Naval Academy mother shot in the chest by a stray bullet while in town celebrating Induction Day.
Harrod, 31, was convicted on first- and second-degree murder charges for Cummings’ death, as well as attempted murder and conspiracy charges for his role in the Pleasant Street shooting on June 29, 2021, that led to a stray bullet striking Cummings.

Prosecutors Carolynn Grammas and Jason Steinhardt, and Angelo Harrod’s defense attorney, Howard Cardin, formally rested their cases before the jury Monday morning, the tenth day of the trial.
Jurors will continue deliberations at 9 a.m. Tuesday on homicide charges against the 31-year-old Annapolis man accused in the shooting death of Michelle Cummings Monday afternoon after lawyers delivered their closing arguments.
