Vidon Vineyard makes wine history with hiring of Tiquette Bramlett Today 10:00 AM Facebook Share By Michael Alberty | For The Oregonian/OregonLive Tiquette Bramlett is not content with the title of “first Black woman hired to head an American winery.” The new president of Vidon Vineyard in Newberg just issued her first executive order: diversity. After graduating from Chapman University in Orange, California, Bramlett spent several years working as a touring vocalist, ghost writer and logistics coordinator for a major high school basketball tournament. Believe it or not, this is not an unusual path to becoming interested in wine as a vocation.

Vidon Vineyard Hires Tiquette Bramlett as President Posted on May 05, 2021   NEWBERG, Ore. (May 4, 2021) – Vidon Vineyard is excited to announce Tiquette Bramlett as the winery’s new president. Bramlett, a member of the Willamette Valley wine community since 2015, is the first Black woman hired to lead a winery both in Oregon and the country. She excels at helping people understand wine by explaining winemaking in an approachable, genuine way and in 2020 founded Our Legacy Harvested, a nonprofit with the goal of promoting diversity and inclusivity in Oregon’s wine industry. As Vidon Vineyard President, Bramlett will advance Vidon’s mission of responsibly growing diversity, inclusivity, and community through wine.

Just miles away in Newberg, Tiquette Bramlett is making national wine history as the new president of Vidon Vineyard. Though there are numerous Black-owned wineries and wine labels throughout the country—including woman-owned Eunice Chiweshe Goldstein Winery and Stoney Wines in Oregon—Bramlett is the first Black woman hired to lead a non-Black-owned winery in the country. She boasts six years of experience in the Willamette Valley wine scene. She started out at Anne Amie Vineyards in Carlton, and was most recently the brand ambassador at Abbey Creek Vineyard in North Plains.
