The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) affirmed that protecting the environment represents an essential component of Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Qatari constitution.
Speaking during the launch of the Al Reem Biosphere Reserve website, the ministry’s Head of Public Relations Abdullah Mohammed Al Falasi emphasized that the protection and safety of the environment represents a fundamental right of Qatari citizens, a moral responsibility towards future generations, and a clear declaration of Qatar’s commitment to global trends aimed at achieving sustainable development.

Qatar concludes virtual seminar on UN Valuing Water report

Doha: Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science concluded a sub-regional virtual seminar on the occasion of the launch of the United Nations World Water Development Report 2021 (UN WWDR 2021) entitled “Valuing Water.”
Several institutions in the State, Unesco-Associated Schools, the National Commissions for Unesco in the GCC countries, and the Unesco World Water Assessment Program (WWAP) took part in the seminar, which was organized in cooperation with the Unesco Regional Office for the Gulf States and Yemen in Doha and Qatar University.

Officials from the embassies of the UK and Italy as well as the Unesco Office for the GCC Countries and Yemen, and the Doha Environmental Actions Project at a beach cleanup event at the Unesco World Heritage Site of Al Zubarah, yesterday.

Doha: The Embassy of Italy, the Embassy of the United Kingdom, and the Unesco Office for the GCC Countries and Yemen, in collaboration with the Doha Environmental Actions Project (DEAP), organised a beach cleanup at the Unesco World Heritage Site of Al Zubarah yesterday.
This was a joint effort to help preserve Qatar’s natural resources and rich heritage, in the framework of the #KeepQatarClean campaign launched by H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, and also a way to raise awareness of the serious damage caused by plastic pollution and littering to the environment and wildlife.
