MN Senate GOP tax bill ready for floor vote

Minnesota Senate Republicans have queued up their tax bill for a floor vote, but the big debate is still ahead with House Democrats over DFLers’ proposed tax increases. The Minnesota Chamber’s Beth Kadoun told Senate G-O-P lawmakers Friday that she appreciates their focus on stabilizing at-risk businesses:
“These strategic actions will help in Minnesota’s economic recovery as we come off the worst economic downturn in over 70 years.”
Anna Odegaard with the Minnesota Asset Building Coalition told lawmakers she hopes there can be tax relief for low-income workers and families:

But that proposal would not cut taxes for the state s lowest-income residents, who are already taxed at the lowest rate. And the million families that do benefit would get, on average, an annual tax break of $36.
