Forget about clam dip or pigs in a blanket. These days, a charcuterie board is the thing hosts are putting together for whatever occasion friends dropping in, casual get-togethers, you name it.
A charcuterie board is an impressive array of ingredients artfully arranged and presented on a board of some kind. Interestingly, along with this craze has come a booming market for artisanal boards made from materials ranging from wood to slate. In truth, any flat surface, like a large platter or a wooden cutting board works. It s not so much what it s served on as what is actually on it.
