OLEAN, NY Because of ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the Olean Public Library budget vote and trustee election, normally held at the library, will be held instead at the Olean Middle School, alongside the Olean City School District’s annual board election and budget vote, on May 18, 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.
The three library trustee positions on the ballot are for two five-year terms and one four-year term. Candidates for trustee are Ann Tenglund, Reed H. McElfresh and Jennifer Mahar.
“The candidates who get the most votes will get the five-year terms,” Assistant Library Director Kim Mahar explained in an email to TAPinto Greater Olean. “The candidate with the least votes will get the four-year term.”
