The Ann Sandell International School, located on the Police Academy Road, Paynesville, in collaboration with partners, has launched a 10-month free tailoring program for women and girls to become self-sufficient.
The program is expected to commence from May 2021 to February 2022, with an initial intake of beneficiaries.
Mrs. Rose Sherman, Board Member of the Ann School, said the program will enable women and girls to become independent and contribute to their communities. She said when women and girls are empowered, they can be an asset to society.
“When we move to make people do something for themselves so they cannot be a liability on society, that is called empowerment,” Mrs. Sharma stated.
