Alabama beats Kentucky to advance to SEC semifinals

Alabama softball advanced to its second consecutive SEC tournament semifinals with a 5-1 quarterfinals win Thursday night over Kentucky.
SEC player of the year Bailey Hemphill smashed two home runs and SEC co-pitcher of the year Montana Fouts tied a tournament record by striking out 15 batters, powering the No. 3 seed Tide to an 11th consecutive win.
Savannah Woodard had a big weekend.
Alabama extends their winning streak to ten straight after their second consecutive sweep of an SEC opponent. The Crimson Tide bats have double digits hits in five straight.
Montana Fouts also stays on a hot streak pitching in all three wins.

The Ole Miss outfielders were mighty busy fielding Bama hits as the new and improved Crimson Tide batting lineup continues their offensive tear.

Savannah Woodard knocked in two for an early first inning lead. The second time through the order, Alabama collected five runs on six hits.
Ann Rhoads, whose name graces the University of Alabama s softball stadium along with that of her husband, has died, according to a social media post from Patrick Murphy, the head softball coach.
The Rhoads family has supported hundreds of UA athletes through scholarships and gifts. John Rhoads, who passed away in 2001, was an accountant at Ernst & Ernst, and a posthumous inductee into the Alabama Business Hall of Fame.
Crimson Tide softball coach Patrick Murphy shared on Twitter an RIP message, saying Her love and generosity toward @UofAlabama will be her well-deserved legacy. We will miss her greatly at The Rhoads House.
