Paul Schroeder was the type of man who never met a stranger, you felt like you knew him your whole life. He loved God and loved to laugh, often laughing until he choked, his stepdaughter Januce Potter said.
“He would laugh his whole heart out,” she said.
But when the Port Huron man caught COVID-19 in November, he struggled to breathe, let alone laugh.
He went into the hospital on Nov. 15 and died Dec. 8 after fighting a hard battle against the virus, according to his obituary.
“We wanted people to know this disease took our dad,” Potter said. “That was really hard.”
