City clerk other Commission Business discussion and possible action in correspondence with the rule 6 of the rules of order to nominate and elect officers. President Vince Courtney i have been honored and selected to fulfill this position. I was excited about it and naive about it and i enjoyed the entire opportunity. I want to quickly go through some of the highlights over the course of the past year and hopefully people understand how quickly these things start to happen. When i first got into this chair it was right after senator torres vacated and we were right in the middle of the assessing the cass catastrophic damage of the rim fire and i saw how staff worked hard under this situation and it was absolutely impressive and the point with the locking faul
The course of each year. We are looking holistically as to how we are going to manage water in the major event of storms. Thank you. Mr. Cruz, do you have any timeline for the assess ment of existing assets that we have . Yes, we definitely want to complete this assessment of what would be impacted within a matter of months then the next step to determine the level of impact which will also be a matter of months and then start to come up with the adaptation plan. That plan will take longer because of the potential dollar volume that we are talking about. If we have identified plans that would cost a few Million Dollars to implement and this those to go forward on and there are those that would be hundreds of millions of dollars and in which case we will do a whole holistic analysis and tell you what this is what phase one and phase two look like. I would like to add as part of the Sewer Improvement Program we have experienced sea rise as it relates to water intruding in our systems. Be
Other parts of the rate will go up, you know, the cost to administer the business will increase over time other regulatory cost might go up. The ratepayers will pay that, but the renewable portion will be fixed. If they leave the program and go back, they will be on the new addition, the new vintage of the rate for the generation. For all of he is the them, they have to pay the transmission and distribution cost. That may go up for the year but the generation if you choose the green tariff will be fixed for a year, right . And then its month to month. If you choose not to and the program goes away, you go back to the old program and no matter, you have to pay what that current rate would be. You are right, kind of like a power purchase agreement, right . When you set a price . Yes. They are treating this like a portfolio. So what pg e is proposing actually is that as they add new projects, if the cost of the renewable portion energy goes down, that the first participants can benefit fr
Addressed im asking this commission to inform the Community Give us some information as to what is happening. You have some members, some, and i dont want to write about them. They think we should be kept in the dark. I will not be kept in the dark, not in 2014. We will shed light. Thank you very much. Thank you francisco. Yolanda thank you for being here. My grandmother said dont give me my flowers when im dead. Give them when im alive. I want to give you flowers today when i start speaking because one thing i noticed that you always put the public 1st. You have handicap and disabled people and i have been going to the Council Meetings for the last couple years and they make you wait last. I told them that i had two blood clots this year and i cant sit that long and i was the last person in the audience. We appreciate the fact that you are putting the public first. This is incredibly important. Last year i spoke with the puc and the president and others took it upon themselves change
Talking about private property that is a major impact like at t ballpark and we plan for adaptation. How do we adapt to the potential Sea Level Rise. There is a study going on now where we take a look at Mission Creek and how we are involved in that study because the rise at Mission Creek is having the Economic Impact on the city because of 18 ballpark ucsf and we have the residential house boats on the creek. They are looking at that and taking a look at how we can adapt to this change from an infrastructure perspective and the last steps will be then coming up with a plan, implementing a plan and starting the circle again as we get more information. So, again what we do is we take a look at the assets, we determine the vulnerability and come up with a plan and narrow the funnel as we move forward. Not unlike the process as we went through our biosolids. There is a recommends that we look at this mean level rise of 36 inches for 2 100 design. What we are looking is the status level ri
