Olympic Medical Center reported last week a smaller net loss in August than it had in July, as the public hospital district continued its plan of spending reductions and improved operational efficiencies after steep post-pandemic losses.
Representatives of Olympic Medical Center discussed the hospital’s finances, presented a plan for recovery and answered questions from the public last week at forums conducted in Sequim and Port Angeles.
In his previous position as Olympic Medical Center’s Chief Financial Officer, Darryl Wolfe said that with just one or two locums — “traveling” health care workers who are contracted to back-fill open jobs — at OMC, “my heart rate would go up.”
