Boothbay in December is a place filled with random acts of kindness. Neighbors look in on neighbors and community giving abounds. At our St. Andrews Auxiliary Thrift Shop, customers are greeted by friendly volunteers, seasonal music and shopping.
Our wonderful community of local artists and the presence of many loyal fans have all contributed to a successful season for the Art in the Square here at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF). And to keep viewers on their toes, new works are.
For the first time since 2019, artists and friends and family gathered Saturday, Oct. 8 at Boothbay Region Art Foundation for the Art in ME awards presentation. There was a great crowd of 50-60 for the presentations by BRAF artist and board member.

St. Andrews Auxiliary members organized 223 stockings for LincolnHealth Employee Appreciation Day Dec. 9. JOSEPH CHARPENTIER/Boothbay Register
“Fast away the old year passes . . .”
Today should have been the traditional day for the Auxiliary’s “LincolnHealth Employee Appreciation Luncheon”. The annual event featured a delicious buffet served at both the St. Andrews Village and the St. Andrews Campus/Urgent Care to thank all the health care workers for their dedication to the community.
As 2020 Covid-10 precautions would have it, the appreciation luncheon was transformed into hand-sewn holiday stockings filled with small gifts and treats for over 200 employees across the peninsula.
