The St. Joseph’s Foundation of Elliot Lake’s annual Tree of Lights hosted it annual lighting ceremony outside of St. Joseph’s General Hospital on Sunday, Dec. 6. There were about 25 people at the event, far fewer than in past years because of COVID-19, but all wearing masks. Among those missing this year because of the pandemic were Ann Foy and the Jewels and Gents to sing Christmas carols. “But they do send their best wishes,” said Jim Graham, master of ceremonies for the Tree of Lights lighting. Elaine Johnson, St. Joseph’s General Hospital board chair, praised William Elliott, St. Joseph’s Foundation chair, for all the work he has for the CT scanner and the hospital bed replacement fundraisers.
