Kingston area featured on interactive map to commemorate women in history

Photo by Laura Byrne Paquet /For The Whig-Standard Article content An interactive map that highlights places in Canada named after women throughout the country’s history features two Kingston-area landmarks. The map was unveiled to the public on Monday, International Women’s Day. Assembled by the Geographical Names Board of Canada, in collaboration with Natural Resources Canada, it features 500 place names that tell a story about part of Canada’s history through the lives of Canadian women, both prominent and ordinary.
