Six bogus government offices in Gujarat’s Dahod district allegedly siphoned off Rs 18.6 crore of government grants between 2018 and 2023. The police have made 4 arrests in the scam that involves 100 government projects.
Police have said teams will be sent to the sites of 100 projects commissioned through fake offices to siphon off around Rs 18.60 crore from the grants under the "tribal sub-plan" in the Dahod district.
The fake government office was allegedly run by "conman" Sandeep Rajput, who posed as an executive engineer, according to police, along with his accomplice Abu-Bakr Saiyyad, a government contractor. Both of them were arrested last week.
