Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani will welcome in Baghdad on Monday Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Erdogan’s visit will last several days and is expected to pave the way for a new chapter in relations with Baghdad. He is also set to visit Erbil, capital of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region. Informed sources said Iraq and Türkiye are expected to sign dozens of agreements during the visit. They will also ink a strategic cooperation agreement covering security, water, economic affairs, energy and transportation.
