On Oct. 24, Lakeridge Elementary School’s Monica Singh, a grade 4/5 Hi Cap teacher, celebrated Diwali with students Aditi Choudhary, Anisa Velamoor, Raahi Dalal, Mira Prakasam, Arya Hersch and Ananya Tiwari. They drew rangolis, an art form of patterns drawn on the threshold of main entrances to houses and buildings, that represent happiness, positivity, liveliness, wealth and good luck; and they colored diyas, a clay pot that candles can be placed in that represent the triumph of light over dark.
