Luna, a domestic long-haired cat, was attacked by a dog near her family home on Hood Street, Barrow, earlier this month. The family were told that they would need to pay £2,000 in vet bills, due to Luna requiring x-rays and major surgery. The cats leg was so badly damaged in the attack the decision was made to amputate it, she also required a further surgery to repair a puncture wound in her side.
