hate. the movement has had positive things. i had friends beat to death, tossed out a window, never made the newspaper. i think bringing some light to the situation is good. without a leader, without someone guiding the movement, there s people that want attention to say horrible things like that. how do you explain the fact most african-american leaders never talk about black on black crime? they chump on garner, brown and what they think about that but won t tackle what you tackle. there is air play for those dialogues. what do you mean? sometimes there s not a lot of press when you re doing it. i stopped broad river ten years from homicides. ray kelly came to see me and honored me for what i did. that hasn t been in the press. peace makers don t get the press. it s usually radical, screaming, angry get the press.
