Watchung Deli, a Montclair institution known for an expansive menu of sandwiches and warm customer service, announced Sunday it was closing for good because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The delicatessen, which opened in 1926, posted a message Sunday on Instagram explaining why it was shutting its doors:
“In the wake of the terrible virus that has taken our world by storm, we were forced to make the very difficult decision to close our doors permanently.
