WhatsApp Locals say two people suffered injuries during an explosion at T-Junction in Bamenda. A woman and her daughter were injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blew off around 3:30 pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at a usually teeming business hub in the city, concurrent reports have said. It is not known if the injuries suffered by the duo are life-threatening. Those familiar with the story, however, say the victims were “seriously injured” and are in hospital. A township taxi driver is said to have driven them to a local hospital shortly after the explosion. Eyewitnesses say they heard a loud sound that forced them to take to their heels, fearing the unknown.

CIN Two separatists were killed in Likomba, a locality in Tiko Subdivision, Fako Division after they burnt down a beer truck Friday morning. Locals say a sustained gun battle between separatists and state forces lasted over two hours on the morning of Friday, January 15, 2021. “This morning, amba boys burnt down a truck transporting beer at Likomba, along the Douala-Limbe highway. The military rushed to the scene. After two hours of deafening gunshots, two separatists were killed,” a local familiar with the incident told Cameroon-Info.Net. A passerby said, “I just saw a 14 wheeler vehicle burnt at Likomba Bridge. I saw two persons lying on the tar in front of the burnt truck carrying brewery products. Many soldiers were on the site. One of the victims is in black and has a red band on the waist, probably an amba. I wish I could stop to know the story.

Facebook An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was diffused by security forces in the city of Kumba, at a newspaper kiosk located at the Buea-Road neighborhood. Locals discovered the suspicious device attached to an electric meter Thursday, January 7, 2021, near the Kumba Press Center. Those who found the object informed Defense and Security Forces. Wilson Elong Njume Njikang, Commissioner of the Kumba Central Police Station in charge of public security led a police squad to the scene. Ascertaining that the suspicious object was an Improvised Explosive Device, military specialists were called in from the 6th military battalion.  The soldiers diffused the Improvised Explosive Device without causing any damage to life or property,” a local familiar with the story told Cameroon-Info.Net.
