NORRISTOWN â The Greater Norristown NAACP is hosting two events back to back Saturday.
Norristown Community Resource Fair, featuring information about the expedited pardon process for marijuana convictions, kicks things off at noon, at the DeKalb lot, 45 E. Airy St., Norristown.
âWeâre partnering with the Public Defenderâs Office from 12 to 3 p.m. A lot of different offices from the county will be out and sharing resources,â noted Angie Hinton, president of the Greater Norristown NAACP. âThe NAACP will be there with voter registration because weâre coming up on the primary. Weâll have music, with a DJ there, and itâs just about sharing all this information.â
NORRISTOWN â If youâre out of work and without health insurance, there are resources available you may not be aware of.
The NAACP of Greater Norristown is collaborating with four state representatives and industry experts to offer an informative webinar on health care coverage, particularly geared for underserved and overlooked communities, on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 6:30 p.m.
âWe reached out to a state repâs office because we know they have these resources,â noted Angie Hinton, the new president of NAACP of Greater Norristown. âWith COVID, a lot of people have lost their jobs and also lost their health care, and we wanted to provide information regarding a resource that people could try to use to get affordable insurance access. And so they connected us with Pennie.â
