Anthony Sullivan, the Australian man who fought for more than 40 years for same-gender marriage rights in the USA, has died at his home in Hollywood, California. His marriage in 1975 to his Filipino-American partner, Richard Adams, was groundbreaking and triggered the first case that asked a US federal court to recognise a same-gender marriage.
