Nelson County voters cast their ballots in yesterday’s general election at the highest rate in the region. Independent Mark Embrey is poised to win in a tight sheriff’s race as of noon Wednesday, with 90% of precincts reported. Embrey took 53% of the vote; two-term incumbent David Hill took 47%.
