Teenage girl harassed and chased by men in Chippenham

Police are appealing for witnesses after the teenager was harassed by two men. The 17-year-old was walking close to the town s rugby club 7.30pm on Monday, when a car with two men inside passed and then stopped nearby. One of the males then started verbally harassing the girl, and then got out of the car and chased her for approximately 100 metres. He then returned to the car, which is described as silver in colour, and it drove off. PC Angela Holden, of Wiltshire Police, said: This frightening experience left the young girl very shaken. Thankfully she wasn t hurt. This is unacceptable behaviour by these males and our investigations are ongoing to find these two and their vehicle.

Man thrown down steep bank after altercation with off-road drivers

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident, which took place on a byway near Avebury. At around 3.30pm on Sunday, January 24 a man in his 50s - out walking with his family - was verbally and physically assaulted by another man belonging to a group of off-road drivers. Following an altercation with the group, the victim was thrown down a steep bank and forced into a puddle; both he and his family were then verbally abused by members of the group. Fortunately, the victim was not seriously injured. The assault took place on the top of the byway which runs from Avebury Trusloe to the trees by Windmill Hill.
