Moultrie County Health Department announces another death due to COVID-19

SULLIVAN, Ill. (WAND)- Moultrie County Health Department announces another Moultrie County resident s passing, a female in her 60s, due to COVID-19.  We are saddened by this loss, Moultrie County Health Department Administrator, Angela Hogan, RN, MSPH, said. We send our deepest sympathies to her loved ones, and we ask for their privacy as they mourn. To date, 1,218 Moultrie County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, which includes 16 previous COVID-19 related deaths.  To help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, the MCHD strongly advises individuals and businesses to use these precautions:  Watch physical distance and keep six feet from others.

To get a bit of background ahead of the main event – which is set to be published as a video online on Facebook this Saturday, December 19, at 7:00pm – AgriLand had a chat with event organiser Albert Purcell. Albert explained that the festive fundraiser is run by the Agricultural Contractors of North Tipperary – with all funds raised from the “snowy” showcase set to go to farming charity Embrace FARM and local cause Billy’s Recovery.

Jim Finn in running for prestigious award

Tipp FM Text 083 311 3311 Tipp FM’s Jim Finn has been shortlisted for an award at the 2020 Agri Guild Awards. The awards, which are held every two years, aim to encourage excellence in the reporting of farming, food and rural life on the island of Ireland. Jim Finn, presenter of Tipp FM’s Ag Report, is one of four nominations for the ‘Best Audio Report’ award. The report in question was Jim’s piece on Angela Hogan’s story.
