The names submitted Monday to the Republican governor include: - Judith French, an Ohio Supreme Court justice who lost a re-election bid in November - Anne Vogel, a top DeWine aide and former utility company attorney - Angela Amos, a policy adviser at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission  and - Greg Poulos, the executive director of a consumer advocacy group for utility customers. 31 people applied for the position.  The governor has 30 days to pick former chair Samuel Randazzo s replacement. Franklin County Judge Chris Brown sided with Republican Attorney General Dave Yost and the cities of Cincinnati and Columbus in granting a preliminary injunction that would block the subsidies that were set to be added to every electric bill in the state starting Jan. 1. “Today’s ruling is a win for all Ohioans,” Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein said in a statement. “HB 6 was passed through deceit, deception and corruption and this decision means that Ohio ratepayers will keep their hard-earned dollars instead of paying for a massive corporate bailout.”

Four Candidates Make the List to Replace PUCO Chair Who Resigned Last Month

The list of possible successors to take over as chair of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has been narrowed to four. One will succeed Sam Randazzo, who resigned last month after a federal filing from FirstEnergy noting an improper $4 million payment to an entity associated with someone who became a state regulator. The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio Nominating Council has submitted four names from a list of interested candidates to Gov. Mike DeWine to replace Randazzo. They are Angela Amos, Anne Vogel, Greg Poulos and Judith French.
